SCAND District Update

Our CEU in February was Perioperative GI Nutrition: Carbohydrate Loading and Immunonutrition presented by Abbott Nutrition Health Institute. We will not have a CEU in March and encourage all members to go to MSAND!

NE-MSAND District Update

The NE MSAND had a Spring Social/Networking Event last week at Wet Paint in Tupelo, MS.  NE MSAND members were encouraged to invite friends/fellow RD’s who are not currently members to join us for an evening full of fun and fellowship as we had refreshments and dabbled in creativity as we painted our pottery pieces!  RD’s from all over the district came so we had a great time meeting new friends and learning more about other RD’s in our area!

Our next event will be our Spring Meeting.  Details will be announced soon!

We hope to see everyone at the conference!

Gulf Coast-AND District Update

GCAND is currently working on our organization’s t-shirt, which will be for sale soon. Also, stay tuned for information regarding a Spring community event. Please contact Alyssa at [email protected] if you are not receiving emails from GCAND.

MS-AND Member Discussion Board

MS-AND is happy to announce the start of a member discussion board! We have created a private forum for MS-AND members to communicate with each other to share resources, ask questions, and interact more.

To subscribe to the discussion board simply send an email that contains your full name and Academy ID number to [email protected] and you will be approved shortly.

Once you are subscribed you can post directly from your email by sending your questions, resource, or discussion topic directly to [email protected]. The group has been quiet so far, but please don’t be shy! This was created for us to interact more effectively with each other.

Public Policy Workshop
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetic’s 2017 Public Policy Workship is June 25th-26th in Washington D.C. This is a chance for you to connect with nutrition and dietetics colleagues at an advocacy summit, learn about current food and nutrition related issues, advance your leadership and communication skills, as well as learn how to become the voice of nutrition that Congress listens to and trusts. To learn more, please visit the advocacy section of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ website at www.eatrightpro.org/resources/advocacy/action-center/public-policy-workshop.

Food and Nutrition Magazine Test Kitchen

What better way to engage members and build a network than hosting a group cook-off?

Food & Nutrition invites Academy affiliates and districts to host a Test Kitchen event! Food & Nutrition’s Recipe Test Kitchen program is open to anyone, but only Academy members and Food & Nutrition subscribers are eligible to win the sweepstakes.
Here’s what to do:

Gather a group to make the featured recipe – currently this Simple Moroccan-Spiced Lamb. We encourage tweaking the recipe and letting your culinary creativity flow!
Snap photos and submit feedback online via this online form. If you made swaps or tweaks to the recipe, be sure to share them here.
Take your culinary creation online! Share pics on social media using the hashtag #FNTestKitchen!

That’s it! After you’ve had fun, finished eating your delicious creation and completed the feedback form, you will be entered to win this incredible Mauviel 7-piece Copper & Stainless Steel Cookware set.
Hurry – this contest ends on Friday, April 7, 2017!
